Subject: Graffiti Soul, Simple Minds have found their high standard again! Reaction? Please mail me: bart@simplemindslive.com |
| Hi
there!
Yesterday I got my ordered two versions of Graffiti Soul (Standard and Deluxe version). Due to an ear injury I'm not able to listen to it with earphones, but I'm very very happy with result. I have listened to it already a lot of time, and already for some weeks to mp3 files. The CD is so much better.
My favorites at this moment are: - Moscow Underground, Graffiti Soul, Blood Type O, This Is It, Stars Will Lead The Way.
Congratulations Simple Minds! This is the best in 20 years! |

Subject: The New Album? Reaction? Please mail me: bart@simplemindslive.com |
| Hi
there!
Graffiti Soul..... The start was not bad, nice cover etc. Then, the first single choice, Rockets. From the first time I listened to it, I have to force myself to listen till the end. I think, especially after hearing Graffiti Soul and Stars Will Lead The Way that Simple Minds have managed yet again to release a wrong choice for the first single. For me, that's very disappointing. For Simple Minds it's necessary that people who are not familiar with Simple Minds like, or get into the song straight away. They will not take the time to get "ïnto" the song. I wasn't invited for the pre-listening of Graffiti Soul (as I wasn't based in the UK I assume, at least they didn't invite me and even didn't give me a change to be there), but what's the point of a pre-listening anyway? Don't get me wrong, I'm not jealous. I'm just wondering how such a process is set up. Did everybody who's a member of www.simpleminds.com and based in the UK get an e-mail? On what base where these fans invited? 20 lucky fans who can hear 30 seconds of a song. Would be better to do this before a first single choice is made, and let them also have a possibility to say what they think (although I'm not convinced that all the fans dare to say what they think). If Graffiti Soul and Stars Will Lead The Way are the standard for the album then this could be indeed a good album. Really hope so. The cover album (I've heard two songs so far), is of course fun to do, and they played it with their hearts. Marketing wise, I'm not sure if this is a good plan. Looking forward to have the new album! PS: As a warm-up I will see U2 in Barcelona at their opening gig in Barcelona! Really looking fprward to this as I saw them as well on their last tour and they were fantastic! |

Subject: Who would you like to see as special guests at the upcoming Simple Minds 30 anniversary concerts? Reaction? Please mail me: bart@simplemindslive.com |
| Simple
Minds has used a lot of excellent musicians through the years. There are
ofcourse members from the first hours like Michael Macneil, Derek Forbes,
Brian McGee. But a lot of others made their appearance: Robin Clark,
Malcolm Foster, Andy Duncan, Lisa Germano, Annie McCaig, Sue Hadjopoulos,
Marc Schulman and John Giblin.
I would love to have the powerfull sound of 1984-1985 (example, Rotterdam ahoy 1985) with vocals of Robin Clark and percussions of Sue Hadjopoulos. But it will be great to have them all on stage, cause every single one of them have contributed to the band they are right now. |

Subject: Jim Kerr not available for the reunion original line-up Reaction? Please mail me: bart@simplemindslive.com |
| Well,
what went wrong? We will probably never know. Why make this public on www.simpleminds.com
and after some weeks already tell the world that Jim Kerr will not be
available through Hyves? It looks rather unprofessional in two ways. I was
really excited about the news when they spoke about a reunion, but
again a huge disappointment and feelings of frustration are inside of me
at the moment. I really don't understand why it's so difficult to get
together. Ego's? Money? Musical direction? It's a real shame as I know
that a lot of fans would love to see the original line up once again on
stage!
I'm aware of the fact the Simple Minds don't owe us an explanation, but I would love to hear the reason this time. BTW, what about Charly? Is this a Jim Kerr action only? |
