SIMPLE MINDS - My Thoughts

Subject: Who would you like to see as special guests at the upcoming Simple Minds 30 anniversary concerts?

Simple Minds has used a lot of excellent musicians through the years. There are ofcourse members from the first hours like Michael Macneil, Derek Forbes, Brian McGee. But a lot of others made their appearance: Robin Clark, Malcolm Foster, Andy Duncan, Lisa Germano, Annie McCaig, Sue Hadjopoulos, Marc Schulman and John Giblin.

I would love to have the powerfull sound of 1984-1985 (example, Rotterdam ahoy 1985)  with vocals of Robin Clark and percussions of Sue Hadjopoulos. But it will be great to have them all on stage, cause every single one of them have contributed to the band they are right now.

Subject: Jim Kerr not available for the reunion original line-up

Well, what went wrong? We will probably never know. Why make this public on www.simpleminds.com and after some weeks already tell the world that Jim Kerr will not be available through Hyves? It looks rather unprofessional in two ways. I was really excited about the news when they spoke about a reunion, but  again a huge disappointment and feelings of frustration are inside of me at the moment. I really don't understand why it's so difficult to get together. Ego's? Money? Musical direction? It's a real shame as I know that a lot of fans would love to see the original line up once again on stage!

I'm aware of the fact the Simple Minds don't owe us an explanation, but I would love to hear the reason this time. BTW, what about Charly? Is this a Jim Kerr action only?
